The Electoral Commission of Jamaica is aware of the misinformation being circulated on social media regarding the renewal of Voter ID Cards. We announced in 2017, the two year extension of all voter ID cards and hasten to state that all ID Cards are still valid until December of this year, 2019.

Please note that, the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) is aware of the 2019 deadline and the importance of the Voter’s Identification card. It is with this in mind that the ECJ is working assiduously on ensuring that the process of renewal is smooth and effective.

We are currently in the confirmation stages of the process and will soon advise the public on the start date for the Voter ID RENEWAL Exercise. At that stage, all questions will be answered regarding the documents needed, the process, the stations where renewal will be done and the requirements for renewal.
