KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The final count for the Greater Portmore North by-election, which took place on March 27, concluded on Tuesday, March 28. Of the 3,136 ballots cast, the People’s National Party (PNP) candidate Gary Nicholson polled 2,101 votes while the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate Ann Marie Lewis received 979 votes. There were 56 rejected ballots.
The electors eligible to vote in the by-election numbered 10,677.
The Voters' List is a fundamental component of any voting system. The primary purpose of the voters' list is to confirm the eligibility of voters to participate in parliamentary and local government elections. The voters' list is printed every six months, May 31 and November 30 each year.
