Professor Alvin Wint is Professor of International Business and Special Advisor on External Relations to the Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies (UWI). Since his professorial appointment over twenty years ago, he has served the University in various capacities, including as a Pro Vice Chancellor.
He is the holder of a Doctorate in International Business from Harvard University and has more than fifty scholarly publications, including four books, in the fields of international investment policy, international competitiveness and Caribbean Higher Education Policy.
Professor Wint has been a consultant to multilateral organisations and is the recipient of many scholarly and professional awards, including the Vice Chancellor’s Award for All-Round Excellence at UWI. He currently chairs CARICOM’s Regional Investment Promotion Steering Committee. He also chairs the board of the Statistical Institute of Jamaica and serves on numerous other boards and committees in the public, private and educational sectors. He is a member of Jamaica’s National Partnership Council and its Coordinating Committee.
